02/05/07 - Sheriff seeks public’s help finding parole absconder now wanted for murder. David Johnson, on parole for home invasion allegedly killed Detroit man.
Wayne County Sheriff Warren Evans is asking for the public’s help in locating a man that investigators believed murdered someone while he was on parole. Evans said that on June 25, 2006, David Johnson allegedly shot and killed John Ivory, 22, and dumped his body in an alley behind Teppert Street on Detroit’s northeast side. According to the Medical Examiner, Ivory had been shot several times. The body was discovered by a man who does landscaping work for home owners in the area.  » continue

People who want to know and monitor the status of somebody in the Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies today sent nearly three quarters of a million dollars worth of illegal drugs up in smoke as part of a periodic departmental evidence destruction, Sheriff Warren Evans said. The drugs were primarily marijuana, heroin and cocaine (crack and powder) that were seized during the past two years as part of narcotic investigations and no longer needed as evidence in court cases.
